Goal:

Familiarizing with the essential tools and principles exploited in high-frequency design. Introduction to circuit simulation.

Contents:

  • Introduction to wireless and radio spectrum, together with Electromagnetic fields and waves.
  • Introduction to AC circuit analysis.
  • Introduction to Transmission lines and transmission line equations, Reflection coefficients and Scattering parameters.
  • Application of the Smith Chart and its software
  • Design of Matching networks and introduction to Distributed circuit design.
  • Study of the concepts of Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and Skin Effect.
  • Application of Matrix Analysis.
  • Introduction to Antenna Basics.
